A word about her

Candis Graham was born on February 14th, 1949 in Kincardine, on the edge of Lake Huron, and lived most of her life in Ottawa. Her favourite colour was green, her favourite dessert was bread pudding, but writing was her passion. Candis had been writing and studying the art of writing since 1976. After years of short fiction, she gradually moved into other genres: poetry, creative non-fiction, novels.

Her short stories, essays, and poems have been published in various Canadian and American anthologies and periodicals, including: Canadian Woman Studies, Common Lives/Lesbian Lives, Fireweed, and Grain. From 1988-1990 she was a contributing editor for (f.)Lip, a national newsletter of innovative feminist writing based in Vancouver.

She began teaching in 1995. These workshops were a source of bliss almost as delightful as that of a green bowl filled with bread pudding.

The new millennium brought many changes, including a move to Victoria, on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Yippee! Candis started a business, InnerSea, in 2004, with lots of green in the background. She created word collages, and sold them as greeting cards and magnets through InnerSea.
