The idea to create a greeting card business—featuring word-collage poems—started to take shape on February 13, 2004. That was
the day Candis had an accident while zipping around town on her Jazz scooter. She spent the wee hours of the morning in an
Emergency Room getting a cast on her right hand.
Some hours later, it was February 14 by this time and her birthday as well, her boss arrived on her doorstep to say she would
be laid-off in a month. Candis decided to see this as an opportunity to try something entirely new. She invited her
entrepreneur-self to get together with her poet-self.
