There are cards that ask questions … and cards that answer. (With thanks to zora neale hurston.) The Innersea slogan was inspired by Zora Neal Hurston. She wrote, “There are years that ask questions and years that answer.” Ms. Hurston was born in 1891 in Florida and died there in 1960. In between, she lived in other places in the United States and led a remarkably independent life for a woman of that time and place. She educated herself and took a variety of jobs to support her writing -- articles, short stories, novels, and plays. The 1937 novel Their Eyes Were Watching God is the best-known of her published writing. I have been in Sorrow’s kitchen and licked out all the pots. Then I have stood on the peaky mountain wrapped in rainbows, with a harp and a sword in my hands. |
